We are getting ready to take off to Hawaii and I remember foraging for guava while on a golf course. The fruit was ripe and I ate it right off the tree. I wondered if it would taste as good here in Boston where the fruit has to shipped in. I was not disappointed!
My 14-year-old’s Exotic Fruit Challenge: Guava
Reminds us of: pear crossed with raspberry.
Texture: pear.
Flavor: floral, slightly sour.
Verdict: delicious! Don’t eat the seeds though!
