Chapter Book for Kids Reminds Me of Ground Hog Day Movie
Imagine spending your first ten birthdays with your best friend who happens to be a boy. Now imagine a terrible fight that lasts a year, and a miserable 11th birthday without him. Now do that over and over again, Groundhog Day movie style.
11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass is an amusing read about the challenges of middle-school friendships with a “pay it forward” theme. As Amanda relives her 11th birthday with her best friend Leo, she gets the chance to learn about their shared family history, pursue the dreams she too scared to attempt, and help those around her. Maybe we all should get a Ground Hog day experience!

I just bought this for my super reader daughter. I love a good Groundhog Day story (love the movie!), and this looks like fun. I’ll definitely read it after her.
