My daughter, PickyKidPix, is on the Triathlon Club. They hosted a 5k fundraiser with a fun twist. Consuming donuts shortens the distance for their race. There were donut stations strategically placed throughout the two-lap course.
If you ate a donut, you got a shortcut. Each station had a different distance that could be cut out so it was also a race of strategy. One rule though — the donut had to be in your mouth before you could move on.
I noticed that Krispy Kreme is marketing their donuts for fundraisers. My Boston College former babysitter extraordinaire is now the head of marketing! She’s all grown up now! I am not sure if she knows about this fundraising 5k idea!
How about you? Are you a fan of Krispy Kreme donuts? I made my husband drive 6 miles past the Chicago O’Hare airport to bring a dozen donuts back to our son. He loves Krispy Kreme and we don’t have it anymore in the state of Massachusetts.
