What I really love about Winged Chariot iPhone/iPad/iPod ebooks is that they come in a slew of languages. Scruffy Kitty comes in Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.
The Red Apple ebook for iPhone, iPad and iPod by Winged Chariot. This is a charming story that can be read or listened to in 9 languages!
In short, the iPhone/iPad/iPod ebook, The Birthday, is a delightful ebook and my five-year-old son really loved it a lot! I highly recommend it for the little ones, ages 2-5.
iPhone/iPad app, Piffle’s ABC Book of Funny Animals, by Once Upon an App is a sweet ABC ebook with that rhymes, teaches the ABCs interactively, and is sung in an engaging and silly way that preschoolers adore.
I can not rave more about OceanHouse Media’s Dr. Seuss iPhone app books and iPad app books. They really get it. The ebook is a different medium than a print book and therefore should have different — ENHANCED — functionality that truly makes it a different, and yes, possibly better, experience than a traditional book.
Emilie Boon’s Peterkin Meets a Star is now an ebook and can be played on your iPhone or iPad. There are hidden sounds on the book and I would think of this as an illustrated and portable “book on tape” that would be perfect entertainment for small kids that doesn’t require much of your attention. I would recommend this eBook for ages 3-6.
eBook, The Crystal Mountain, by Ruth Sanderson for ages 6-10. Sanderson combines folk tales from China and Norway in this lushly illustrated book. This is the perfect eBook for reluctant readers as it can be treated as a portable “book on tape” with rich language and gorgeous illustrations.
Round is a Mooncake written by Roseanne Thong and illustrated by Grace Lin, is an ebook for the iPhone or iPad about shapes with an Asian American Children’s Literature twist.
Once Upon an App has made the classic story Peter Rabbit into an eBook for the iPhone or iPad. This is a delightful iPhone ebook. The story and puzzle is a classic “Highlights” magazine of spotting the hidden picture in the illustrated line drawing page. When you find the picture, you move an easter egg to locate it and the picture turns into a beautiful colored illustration
