I found this great article through a LinkedIn group but it’s actually from Forbes. I had been working on resumes lately for friends (I’m great at other people’s resumes from years of reading thousands of resumes from working in staffing but not so much for my own), and one of my mom friends who wants to return back to work after staying home for about a decade was grilled on question number 1. It seemed that her would be employer could not get over the fact that she was a stay-at-home mom who wanted to return back to work. Strange but true.
I realize that this is not what I usually blog about but I have been in the staffing business for most of my working life so I find this particularly funny. And, shame on me, when I interview people, I do believe I’ve asked one or two of these questions from time to time … I think it’s because I was also trying to check my email simultaneously while phone screening someone who driveled on and on. But there is a post on that one too, also from The Oatmeal. Is this blog usually this funny? If so, I gotta get a feed!
