My kids like a hot breakfast but I rarely wake up in time to cook for them before school. On the weekends, before their soccer games, it can also be mad scramble to get ready which means that I can not pull off a hot breakfast for them. This last weekend, my daughter had a soccer game down in Plymouth, the oldest city in the world.

Do you like scary movies? I get so scared that I can’t watch them, but my kids are braver than I am! I did see the trailer for Goosebumps at the last movie that I went to and I loved that it was about all the Goosebumps books! This big-screen adventure is based on the Goosebumps books written by R.L. Stine, with R.L. Stine played by none other than Jack Black.
Of course, capturing the monsters from the Goosebumps books that come alive will take some know how. Reading the books will help!
I love that Scholastic has collaborated with Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation on this movie. Families can celebrate Halloween by seeing the Goosebumps movie in theatres and checking out all kinds of movie tie-ins they’ve created! Read more…
Do you not know what to give your teacher for this holiday season? Are you not allowed to give your teacher a gift like I am, except if it is for the classroom? I am excited about this great giveaway that you can win for your teacher!
It’s easy. Just have your kids kids write a short 3-5 sentence essay about why their teacher deserves to win a gift basket full of Griffin products for his or her classroom. Leave this as a comment below. I will choose the most moving essay to win this Tech the Halls package. Read more…

This was my first time to shop at BJ’s. The trick for my family is to buy in bulk to save money while not wasting food. That’s the hard part but I want to teach my kids not to be wasteful. It’s also about gratitude. To me, not wasting food shows appreciation for what you are fortunate to have.
What I like about BJ’s is that there is a huge variety of items, and while there is bulk savings, the quantities are not overwhelming. Take Bertolli® Pasta Sauce. It’s a great deal at $5.79 for 3 bottles! Read more…
Full disclosure, I was compensated for my participation in the Room for More campaign, but all opinions and text are mine.
I now rely on my iPhone for taking video and photos. It’s not as good as a “good” camera but it’s a lot more convenient. I just wish I had more notice, though, when I am about to run out of storage space because that sends me into a panic, especially when I know I need to use my phone to record something important like my daughter’s school concert.
It’s probably not very important to my daughter to record this for posterity but her dad is at home watching our other kids so this is the only way he can watch her perform. She’s only in it for the ice cream parlour stop after the concert! Read more…

Have you considered going solar? I have. Solar seems like a good way to go … for potential energy savings, for reliable electricity (we frequently lose power), but especially for the environment. But where to start? I think that’s the hard part!
Do you need gift ideas for Mother’s Day? I always do. The problem is that I think Mother’s Day is all about me and I forget that I also need to get Mother’s Day gifts for the grandmothers. One year this meant overnight expressing cards for Saturday delivery!
