The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.
When I went to college, my boyfriend informed me that I was provincial. From a province. He was from Queens, New York, and commuted an hour each way to a New York city magnet school. I protested that I was from a beach town. A suburban beach town! But he was right. I was provincial and my local politics prove it. Corruption is easy to pull off in a province.
The year is 1983. The month is June. Seniors are about to graduate but there is one thing left for me to do: I have to run the All Student Body Elections.

Tom Anthony: Vice Principal and in charge of Student Council. He’s going to University of Southern California (USC) at night to get his PhD in Education. He’s a young, affable guy and everyone really likes him, myself included, at least until THE CHEATING INCIDENT!
I’m celebrating dads with humor today! My husband is on a once-in-a-lifetime golf trip in Ireland and will be landing back in Boston shortly. He is doing a double celebration — for a friend’s 60th birthday and for Father’s Day returning just in time for a Father’s Day dinner. It will be low key, perhaps even take out. A week without him is a long week indeed.
And so, to celebrate Father’s Day, I have rounded up a few funny tidbits that will make my husband laugh. Here’s hoping that your Father’s Day is wonderful too, filled with laughter and fun! Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, step dads, and grandfathers out there!! I hope you have a wonderful day. How are you celebrating Father’s Day today?

It was an easy week for me last week. My two older girls were at sleep away camp so we just had our rising 2nd grade son. The house was quiet and he reveled at being an only child. I still had dog walking duties and they are not insignificant. My dog, now 2 years old, needs a 3 mile off leash hike daily. Still, as I reflected on dog vs kids, I dashed off this tongue-in-cheek list of why dogs are easier –some would even say better but I certainly wouldn’t! — list of why dogs ARE easier than kids! Karen Bergreen is my freshman roommate Alytia’s roommate during her junior and senior year. I had met her in college through Alytia and always liked her. I knew she was funny so it didn’t surprise me when she became a stand up comedian. She did her stand up at our 25th college reunion and she was HYSTERICAL! See clip below… Read more…
Second grade kids have good theories on why god made moms. This will make you smile!
