My Dad Friend from work sent me the first link to Back Country Skiing and in doing so, I discovered this great blog by a Harvard Mom who now writes this blog for the Appalachian Mountain Club for kids while pursuing her love of rock climbing and back country skiiing. Winter is starting to drag on here at our house, so this is my pep talk to myself and the kids to embrace winter by trying something new like cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or new sledding hills.

How To Get Kids to Eat Healthy Food
It’s getting easier to get my oldest to make “healthy food choices” as we call it. The other day, she went on a play date and the mom said that when she offered my daughter a snack, she requested fruit. My mom friend was aghast that she actually had no fruit in the house. A different snack was consumed. Upon her return, my daughter said that she just really, really likes and even craves a lot of fruit. And not so much for cookies. She can have cookies. Just pair it with a protein!

Best Beauty and Skin Care Products from Into The Gloss
I find that now that I am of a certain age (ahem … mid forties), I am experimenting with serums, night creams and the like and also, in general, trying to take better care of my skin. It’s overwhelming, however, to figure out what the best products are for me. My approach was to analyze all the posts in my new favorite beauty blog, Into the Gloss, and see what products came up over and over and over again. This is that list. Please let me know what products are your favorites and I’ll add to the list.
How To: Detect & Get Rid of Lice
How to detect and remove lice and nits. Two effective methods for killing lice: Robi Comb (an electronic zapper comb) and the Olive Oil Treatment. Pragmatic Mom does not recommend lice shampoo because it’s not 100% effective due to lice resistence, and has harmful chemicals.

More ideas listed in the post.
