Bangladesh: Culture, Alpanas, Children’s Books, Recipe and More!
This Tuesday, we are exploring the country of Bangladesh, a country I know so little about that I didn’t actually know how to spell it. Thank you spell checker! I have included a brief history, selected a few children’s books, created an activity on alpanas, found some gorgeous jewelry and cooked an Indian recipe for Spicy Chickpeas.
Cricket In Times Square: Book Club for Kids
I hosted my middle daughter’s book club this past week. She chose her all-time favorite book by which she judges all other books, Newbury Honor Book, The Cricket in Times Square by George Selden. Activity 1: Create a Cricket Habitat with Actual Crickets to Bring Home.
Halloween Picture Books and Chapter Books
I’m not one to buy Halloween presents for my kids, but if I did, I’d buy each of them a book from this list. I would, however, pick a Halloween themed books for my children’s book clubs if I were hosting in October. The great thing is that kids, mine at least, like these books year around. Halloween is probably a kids’ favorite holiday!
