My dear friend, Lori Abe, arranged for us to take a private tour of the Hawaii Governor’s Mansion. The mansion is about to close for renovations, so it was the perfect timing. Lori is the Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Josh Greene.
As we walked towards the State House, she called to see if we could come inside. The security gets tightened if the governor is in residence. It turned out to be a good time to see her office and meet her colleagues. Everyone was so nice. This IS Hawaii, after all. We were encouraged to take the iconic photo in front of the Hawaii State seal! That was very exciting!
The State Capitol building also gets artwork on loan from the Hawaii Museum of Art, so it was also fun to see what each person picked out to decorate their walls.
