My daughter’s start-up, Beam, has created a printed book called Eating The Whole Fish. It encourages people to support sustainable seafood systems through introducing underloved species, visual studies, and local narratives.
Eating the Whole Fish, a 200-page book about rethinking seafood culture in Rhode Island—and beyond. It’s part interviews, part how-to guide, part recipe book.
Inside, you’ll find:
- Conversations with fishermen, chefs, and community leaders shaping our seafood system.
- A practical section on anatomy, cleaning, prepping, and eating the whole fish.
- Recipes from grandmas, artists, and friends, each with their own family specialty.
- Visual guides, photos, and diagrams that make the process inviting and accessible.
It’s equal parts cultural artifact and practical manual, designed to inspire a more sustainable, delicious relationship with our ocean.
