SUBMISSION PERIOD: July 1, 2025 – August 31, 2025
CRITERIA:
The book must be traditionally published in 2025.
The main character must be intersectional. In other words, they identify with two or more marginalized and/or underrepresented identities, which may include their
- Race, Ethnicity, Skin Tone, Tribal Affiliation,
- Nationality, Language, Culture,
- Physical Appearance, Physical Ability, Neurodivergence,
- Gender Identity, Sexual Identity,
- Religion, Socioeconomics, Family Structure.
One physical copy of the final book must be sent to each of the six [6] judges.
The $1500 prizes will be shared equally with the authors, illustrators, and/or translators listed on the book cover.
Now more than ever, books by and/or about historically underrepresented individuals need our help.
The Pedro and Daniel Intersectionality Book Awards (PADIBA) were established to promote books with intersectional protagonists. We plan to highlight many more PADIBA-submitted books this year.
Please encourage your book creator friends to submit their books for consideration!
