My middle daughter, has been working on her start-up, Swarm, for over a year, starting as a Junior at Northwestern University. Her idea was hatched during a Little Joe Fellow trip meant to jumpstart undergraduates into successful entrepreneurs.
NU’s The Garage also selected her for a $10,000 grant so she could spend the summer working on her idea. It was there, with the help of many interns, that she worked on her formulation and launch plan. She also had the considerable talents of Generalist, a company founded by her RISD sister, who provided all the creative, including strategy, branding, product design, pitch deck, ad creative, and more.
VentureCat is Northwestern’s school-wide business plan competition, which pitted her against all the various graduate schools at NU, including Kellogg MBAs, PhDs, and even a start-up by two NU professors!
The Grand Prize is a $100,000 non-dilutive cash prize!
