I had such a fun time at Lisa and Tyler Perron’s book launch for All the Rocks We Love. Not only did I learn about the different kinds of rocks, but I was able to spot them on the scavenger hunt they set up at Whitelam Books in Reading, MA.
All the Rocks We Love by Lisa Varchol Perron and Tyler Perron, illustrated by David Scheirer
What kid doesn’t love to collect rocks? There is something universal about a shiny or sparkly rock. With the help of MIT Geology professor, Tyler Perron and his wife, Lisa Varchol Perron, readers can learn all about the rocks they love. This is a fun way to introduce STEM to kids, especially girls! [picture book, ages 3 and up]
Author Phaea Crede, Super Pizza & Kid Kale, and I participated in the rock scavenger hunt which was a lot of fun. I needed clues from Tyler to find the last two!
p.s. Pair All the Rocks We Love with another rock book:
Talking Rocks and Minerals: Fact-Packed Guide to Geology by Paige Towler, illustrated by Matthew Carlson
Readers who like learning facts will enjoy this engaging picture book featuring anthropomorphic rocks. Graphic novel panels make it fun to read. [nonfiction picture book, ages 6 and up]
