Our perfume-making class at Molinard turned out to be the most popular activity of our trip! Not only did we learn how to make perfume, but we made our own bespoke fragrance which we were able to bring home. The bottle of perfume was also only 3 ounces so it made it through airport security if you didn’t need to check your luggage!
Our teacher managed to help 4 groups create their own perfume while running the retail portion of the shop! She was amazing! First, we chose the scents we liked based on top, middle, and bottom notes. Then, she helped us pare it down and figure out the proportions of each formation. Take a look here:
Once we were satisfied with our “recipe”, we used plastic pipettes to create our perfume, based on the recipe she created for us. We shook the bottle thoroughly to mix it and were allowed to give it a single spray. The perfume then needed to “marinate” for 7 days before spraying it again. Here’s the reveal for a perfume that turned out really well:
We can reorder our bespoke perfume at any time. This is the perfect activity for anyone who hasn’t found a perfume or cologne they love; here’s your chance to create the perfect one for yourself! And maybe … this experience will inspire someone to become a professional perfume maker!
