I had so much fun at the Louisville Book Festival despite still recovering from Bell’s Palsy. You might notice that my smile is a little weird from partial face paralysis thanks to Bell’s Palsy.
Deedee Cummings, a fabulous board member of Read Your World, created the Louisville Book Festival in 2020 to address the book desert there. She is also an author, publisher, therapist, and attorney. What does she not do? We are pictured together in the photograph.
I was thrilled to be invited to the Louisville Book Festival and hope to be back next year!
I sat next to Dr. Carlotta A. Berry and she’s featured on our Ig Live. Her books encourage kids to get involved in STEM professions and create robotics picture books featuring Black and Brown children. She said that the Louisville Book Festival was her most successful book event in terms of book sales!
