Josh Funk kindly offered to do a book event with me so for my book launch for Food for the Future, I scheduled a Storytime at Hummingbird Books, a new independent bookstore in Chestnut Hill/Newton MA, near where I live.
Because Food for the Future came out on May 23, 2023, the closest weekend landed on the three-day Memorial Day weekend. I figured that people would be in town since I was planning to be here. It was fine for Josh as well. But I did not take into account how the lockdown from the Covid-19 pandemic has really motivated people to get out of town!
Still, we managed to get a good crowd and a good time was had by all. My thanks to Hummingbird Books for hosting us and to Josh Funk for his kind support! My thanks also to my husband who taped our event!
What are your favorite picture books about food? Thanks for sharing!
