My daughter is a sophomore in college and she is a foodie. During her freshman year, she hosted “Charcuterie Night” for her friends in her dorm. It was a big hit even on those sad nights when there was just a pile of cubed cheese that came from the supermarket. Other times, when she was flush, it was an extravaganza of cured meats and imported cheese.
I gifted her an encyclopedic book on cheese for Christmas and she was delighted. We are even thinking of taking a cheese tour in Switzerland one day hosted by Formaggio Kitchen folks, our favorite cheese shop in the Boston area.
When Platterful offered me a curated charcuterie board right to my daughter’s dorm, she eagerly accepted. She is in a 6-room suite with a kitchen and on a partial meal plan, so preparing food for herself and her friends is now part of her new normal.
Platterful provided an all-in-one kit, complete with instructional and educational content making this an educational opportunity. They offer a subscription so that every month customers get all new meats, cheeses, and accompaniments complete with new educational material on how to assemble the perfect board every time.
My daughter enjoyed the Large Kit, a $115 value. Her friends were delighted to partake. When she gets homesick, I usually send food care packages, running around town to purchase goodies at ethnic markets. Now, my go-to gift will be Platterful for her. It’s the gift that turns into a party!
With a busy holiday season coming up, Platterful makes a great hostess gift! I know that it will be on my holiday gift list!
