My daughter and her team, Team Scup, will be competing as one of eight finalists invited to present at Ocean Exchange in Fort Lauderdale, FL October 24-26 2021, in front of 150 delegates from business, NGOs, academia, and government.
Ocean Exchange will pay for airfare for one member of Team Scup plus a hotel room. The other three members are flying out to present as well.
This is their presentation for their BlueGreen Innovation Challenge.
For the Ocean Exchange competition, they will present in person as a group. Their are eligible to win one of two $10,000 cash awards.
Delegates vote on who receives the three prizes: $25,000 cash award and two $10,000 cash awards. Learn about past winners here.
2021 Collegiate Awards
Ocean Exchange Collegiate Award $25,000 USD: for solutions that advance the decarbonisation of the maritime shipping industry, either while underway or while in port. We seek solutions that are globally scalable, and which are applicable to any segment, including commercial ocean carriers, ferries and coastal transportation, large recreational yachts, towing and barge vessels, the cruise industry, and defense/security maritime sectors.
Broward College Innovation Award 2021 of $10,000 USD is given to the collegiate solution that advances our understanding of the ocean and that helps minimize our impact on these resources, resulting in more resilient bodies of water including healthy marine life and coastlines.
Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation Award 2021 of $10,000 USD is given to the collegiate solution that advances our understanding of the ocean and that helps minimize our impact on these resources, resulting in more resilient bodies of water including healthy marine life and coastlines.
