While there is nothing wrong with going glam from time to time, it can be nice to take things down a bit for your standard look and aim for a more natural style. I opted for a minimalist makeup look for my wedding day! Opting for a more natural look can be a great way to emphasize your natural beauty while at the same time simplifying your beauty routine.
However, if you have been in the habit of hiding behind makeup and hair products for some time, you might not know where to begin when it comes to creating a more natural look. Oftentimes, people have a tendency to hide behind more makeup than is necessary out of a feeling of self-consciousness regarding a certain feature or other. With the right approach, though, you can create a more natural look that will make you feel more comfortable in your own skin.
With that in mind, here are a few tips that can help you to achieve a more natural look so that you can stop hiding behind all that makeup and let your true beauty shine.
Use the Right Products
The first thing to address when it comes to creating a more natural look is the products that you are in the habit of using for your daily beauty routine. First, evaluate the products that you are currently using and put the ones that are designed to cover up your natural beauty on the shelf for the time being.
Instead, consider investing in natural hair bundles that will provide you with products that will emphasize your natural hair instead of toning it down. Such products will help you to harness the natural texture of your hair so that you can achieve a more effortless look.
Tone Down Your Makeup
By using too much makeup, or the wrong makeup entirely could result in a look that is far from your natural appearance. So instead of going with a full face of makeup every single day, save the glam for special occasions only and switch to a more natural look for your every day.
There are a few ways that you can accomplish this without deviating too far from your comfort zone. Swapping your standard foundation for a more translucent CC or BB cream is a good place to start. Such products provide you with the coverage that you need in addition to an extra boost of moisture so that you can actually improve the quality of your skin over time.
As for the eyes, wearing heavy mascara doesn’t exactly go with the natural look we’re aiming for, especially if it ends up with clumps, it only makes your lashes look too heavy or even messy. Instead, you can try applying natural-looking waterproof lashes which come in different lengths and volumes. Unlike mascara, diy lash extensions are great for achieving the no makeup makeup natural look.
If you love to sport a spot of color on your lips, you can continue to do so in a more toned-down manner by applying your lipstick differently. Simply dab on a lighter coat as opposed to sweeping on full coverage of color.
Define Your Natural Features
The key to achieving a more natural look is to aim to define your natural features instead of covering them up. This can be done with some simple techniques and will allow you to highlight the features that you like best without making them appear overpowering.
I like to focus on skincare rather than makeup. A minimalist makeup look is helpful for many reasons. It’s faster. It’s less expensive. And it lets you shine through.
