Please join Amy Tai and me for our third Multicultural Children’s Book Club. We host a FREE multicultural children’s picture book virtual book club on the first Thursday of every month from 7 pm to 8 pm EST.
July’s event will be held on July 1st and we are celebrating martial arts at the Tokyo Olympics using Let’s Go To Taekwondo! by Aram Kim.
As always, we will have:
- Book talk
- Art project
- Snack ideas related to our theme
- Surprise guest (popping in at 7:40 pm)
- Giveaway
I am giving away a “Multicultural Children’s Book Club in a Box” which includes Let’s Go To Taekwondo, Karate Kids, and Sumo Joe. My box will also include healthy Korean snacks for a group.
Amy will also give away her sample art project. I hope you will host your own Tokyo Olympics book club celebration! The winner of the Book Club in a Box will be selected from the participants who attended our virtual event.
For those who don’t know Amy Tai, she is a New York City public elementary school art teacher and she’s amazing in both facilitating a Zoom event and in her creative ideas!!
We hope you can join us in July!

This is a wonderful and creative way to connect the Tokyo Olympics with children’s literature and cultural learning. I really like how the post highlights martial arts books that introduce kids to different traditions while also encouraging confidence, discipline, and curiosity. Initiatives like the Multicultural Children’s Book Club help children appreciate diversity and global cultures through stories and engaging activities. Great resource for parents and educators!
