Boston Performing and Visual Arts College Fair at Emmanuel College is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is recommended; high school students will receive a QR code that colleges can scan to track who saw them. This puts students into their system and notes their interest in the school and will also trigger mailings and emails from the schools.
The Performing and Visual Arts Fair (PVA) connects students with colleges and universities offering majors in music, theater, art, dance, visual arts, graphic design, film production, and other related disciplines.
Because this college fair is small and well targeted, it’s not overwhelming. This is especially great for students interested in art and design programs as they can get portfolio reviews without standing in long lines.

I went with my Transitioning Together (First to College) mentee and we focused on art and design colleges in the Northeast. She received portfolio reviews from:
Massachusetts College of Art and Design
Montserrat College of Art
Maine College of Art
In addition, we talked to Savannah College of Art and Design. All this took about 90 minutes, including perusing the room to look at every college. The Performing and Visual Arts Fair was two hours from 6:30 to 8:30 pm so there was plenty of time.
