My co-author of How To Coach Girls, Alison Foley, recently left Boston College where she had been the winningest coach in the history of the school with over more than 280 victories, and appearances in 15 NCAA Tournaments including eight Sweet 16s, three Elite Eights, and the 2010 Final Four!
My daughters and I have been helping her start her own consulting company, Foley Athletic Advising, which helps girls who want to play soccer in college.
Our marquee event was the New England Top 100 College Showcase which brought more than 50 women’s soccer coaches from across the U.S. to watch the top talent in the New England area including:
Albany University, American International College, Amherst College, Babson College, Barry University, Boston University, Brandeis University, Brown University, Charleston Southern University, Clark University, Clemson University, Colby-Sawyer College, Cornell University, Elms College, Emmanuel College, Endicott College, Fairfield University, Fitchburg State University, Florida State University, Franklin Pierce University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Grambling State University, Harvard University, Holy Cross, Iona College, Lasell College, Lesley University, Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Merrimack College, MIT, NC State, Northeastern University, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Princeton University, Providence College, Salem State, Saint Anselm College, Seton Hall University, Southern Connecticut State University, Southern New Hampshire University, St. Francis Brooklyn, Stonehill College, Syracuse University, Temple University, The University of Texas at El Paso, UCLA, UConn, UMass Amherst, UMass Lowell, UNC, University of Bridgeport, University of Michigan, University of New Hampshire, University of New Haven, University of Pennsylvania, University of Rhode Island, Wake Forest University, Wellesley College, Wesleyan University, Wheaton College, Yale University and more, as well as scouts for the U.S. Women’s National Team.
We had players fly in from as far away as Brazil and Singapore for this event!
The New England Top 100 College Showcase is an invitation-only event for girls who want to play soccer at the next level. It is an excellent way for players to get exposure without having to endure the expense and travel of other showcase events as we will bring college coaches to Boston.
Here are some highlights from this two-day event. College coaches have already asked for the date for next year! It’s not set yet but it will be around the same timeframe.
