Thank you to Boise Paper for sponsoring this post!
There’s something that might make you a superhero to someone. You could literally save their life by donating blood. Did you know that the American Red Cross has a Missing Types campaign, now in its second year, to inspire new blood donors to roll up a sleeve and help save lives? This campaign is currently underway and goes until June 30.
The goal this summer is to inspire 325,000 people – including 50,000 who have never donated
blood before – across the U.S. to help save lives by setting an appointment to donate blood.
Did you know that only 3 out of 100 Americans donate blood in a given year, yet every two seconds, someone needs it? There simply aren’t enough people donating blood to help patients in need. By donating blood, you can make a difference by changing the statistics and saving lives.
What are the #MissingTypes? You might not realize how important certain letters are until they’re gone. A, B and O are our main blood groups, and when not enough people donate blood, hospital shelves may be empty when a critical patient arrives. That could be a kid battling cancer, accident victims being raced into emergency rooms or new moms with complicated childbirths. They all may need lifesaving blood right now. What if their blood type wasn’t available?
You can help fill the #MissingTypes patients need. Make a pledge to donate blood at
https://rcblood.org/2QgrVLP and visit RedCrossBlood.org/MissingTypes to make an appointment
today.

About Boise Paper and American Red Cross Partnership
As part of its Paper with Purpose® promise, Boise Paper is committed to making a difference in the
communities its customers and employees call home. In 2019, the company is demonstrating that
commitment through its ongoing support of the American Red Cross.
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs lifesaving blood. The Red Cross helps meet
this constant demand by providing about 40% of the nation’s blood supply. It does this work through
the support of generous blood donors, blood drive hosts and partnerships like the one it has with
Boise Paper.
Collectively, these partnerships are the driving factor behind the Red Cross’ ability to supply 2,500
hospitals across the country with blood products every day.

This is such a wonderful campaign! I have low iron levels and can never donate, but I have tried numerous times. I’m glad you’re helping to push others to do it!
