10th annual World Read Aloud Day (WRAD) is on Friday, February 1!
Created by the nonprofit LitWorld, World Read Aloud Day highlights the profound power of reading aloud and sharing stories.
Help spread the word and encourage reading aloud at any age by sharing WRAD celebration tips (below), letting your readers know how you will celebrate, and/or publishing a round-up of your favorite read-aloud books. Join on social media using #WorldReadAloudDay.
Suggested WRAD celebration tips for your parent readers:
- Research shows that for many families, reading aloud is a highly interactive experience. Celebrate World Read Aloud Day with the most fun and collaborative read-aloud ever with your family!
- Volunteer to read aloud at a local school, community center, or retirement home. Or, collaborate with your neighborhood to organize a reading event for your community that brings you all together and celebrates the power of literacy.
