Pepperdine’s campus, located in Malibu, overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It’s a gorgeous campus and tempting for anyone who wants a beach experience. But this is not a college with a laid-back beach vibe. This is a deeply Christian school that just happens to be on a beach.
We had heard that Pepperdine is a conservative and religious college, but we didn’t realize that students there are required to take three religion classes and that the point of the curriculum is to deepen your faith relationship through your college experience.
We did meet students who were Catholic so while this is not necessarily a Catholic school, anyone who worships at a church of Christ would feel comfortable here though this school has a more Protestant born-again vibe.
Fans of the TV show Zoe 101 will enjoy finding the various spots at Pepperdine featured on the show.

I think Pepperdine was where they held some of the Battle of the Network Allstars competitions back in the day. That’s my main awareness of it. That was also what my friend’s ex-husband called our alma mater (Mount Holyoke), meant to be as some kind of slight. He didn’t have a degree and didn’t like his wife being “ahead” of him in any way. Easy to see why they became exes!
Hi Dee,
It’s a beautiful campus so I can see why it would be a place to host a TV competition! You can see the ocean right at the bottom of the hill.

Had a friend attend there and loved the campus and faculty.
