My husband found this toy at Costco and gave it to our son for his 14th birthday. My son likes Legos and building kits so this was a natural fit.
This would be my STEM toy recommendation for the holiday season. I love how it teaches simple machines in a really fun way.
My son describes this STEM toy:

I highly recommend ALL Vex systems. My brothers grew up using them, and now one of them is a school robotics instructor! I wish that girls had been encouraged more to use VEX when I was in school. I hope more girls will be drawn to it. It will open up a whole new world for children in STEM-related fields, while providing a kinesthetic learning system. My son still has his system but is handing it down to his cousin, son of robotics teacher.
Hi Annie Lynn,
That is a great recommendation for Vex STEM toys! They are new to us but my son just got a set and loved them!
