I spoke at The Writers’ Loft on my background as an entrepreneur co-founding Aquent, a staffing company specializing in placing temporary employees in marketing and creative industries. In many ways, an entrepreneur and an author are similar. Both are trying to bring an idea to market.
With this in mind, I tell the story of starting Aquent and draw the lessons that I learned from that experience into getting published. If you are interested in it, my presentation is here: Thinking Like An Entrepreneur.
BEST #OWNVOICES CHILDREN’S BOOKS: My Favorite Diversity Books for Kids Ages 1-12 is a book that I created to highlight books written by authors who share the same marginalized identity as the characters in their books.
Mia, I love this! I’m also going to share your presentation with my son who very much wants to be an entrepreneur.
Thanks so much Dee!! I hope Dylan likes my presentation! Tell him he can email me with any questions or call me if that works better. Or text!
Thanks! Very valuable info. Keep sharing.
