My 13 year old son’s Exotic Fruit Challenge: Dosekei.
Reminds us of: watery Honeydew melon.
Texture: crispy version of Honeydew melon.
Flavor: almost no flavor. Like a watery Honeydew melon.
Verdict: tasteless, did not like it! It’s possible that this Dosekai was not at optimal ripeness.

I continue to be impressed that he will try things!
Thanks Dee! It helps that he likes to shop for the exotic fruit at the green grocer.
Crisp honey dew melon sounds intriguing, but not the almost no flavor part. Yet again, I’m wondering what it would taste like fresh off the tree instead of shipped to the US…
Hi MaryAnne,
I think you are right about the fruit being underripe when picked and shipped out. I bet it would be much better picked ripe off the vine!
