My 13-year-old son’s Exotic Fruit Challenge: Dragonfruit.
Reminds us of: watermelon crossed with kiwi.
Texture: like a grainy kiwi.
Flavor: like watermelon but not as sweet and with seeds like kiwi.
Verdict: very good!
Explore exotic fruit in this lovely board book that might entice your kids to try dragonfruit and more!

What a fun challenge idea! I’ve always wondered what dragon fruit tasted like.
It’s a little like kiwi but not as tart.
I LOVE dragon fruit, but it is only grainy when it is picked before it is ripe. I got spoiled eating it fresh when we lived in Guatemala, and have yet to find one in a US store that measures up…
Ah…that is probably our issue! It’s hard to find it really fresh here I bet! Thanks for that insight MaryAnne. If we make it Guatemala, we will try it there!
