#HappyDreamer GIVEAWAY by Peter H Reynolds

#HappyDreamer GIVEAWAY by Peter H Reynolds

Posted on April 14, 2017April 29, 2024 by Pragmatic Mom

Paul Reynolds PragmaticMom and son

You might know Peter H. Reynolds from The Dot and Ish. Now he has a new book out that encourages readers of every age to find their own unique path to happy. My son and I have fond memories learning about how a math teacher changed his life from his twin brother Paul Reynolds.

Today, I am thrilled to giveaway Peter H. Reynold’s new book, Happy Dreamer. A picture book that celebrates ADHD as an acronym for Amazing Delightful Happy Dreamer.

Happy Dreamer by Peter H. Reynolds

Peter Reynolds is redefining what ADHD stands for: it’s simply an acronym for Amazing Delightful Happy Dreamer.  When the world says sit still, follow the rules, and color
inside the lines, his new book celebrates those moments when the mind and spirit soar and we are free to become our own true dreamer.

This book is great for graduations, new babies, milestone moments, and any happy occasion
throughout the year for any age! [picture book, ages 4 and up]

I’m really looking forward to this book. Everything Peter Reynolds does is amazing. I listened to him talk with Matthew Winner on the All the Wonders podcast and he shared about Happy Dreamer. Very interesting.

I begin every school year with his ISH. It releases the perfectionists in my class, and allows the ish-like kids to breathe a light of relief. We refer to ish the rest of the year and it breathes life into their writing. ❤

I am delighted with Peter’s theme in this book — and there are no labels. It helps kids feel good about themselves and shine at what ever they do. It also reminds me a bit of his book “I’m Here.” I look forward to reviewing Peter’s new book, but have to wait a bit since others have.

I was so fortunate to meet Peter Reynolds when I was attending a conference for Educational Video Vendors (I was Coordinating Librarian for the Video Library for Los Angeles Unified School District). He was the keynote and I won the chance to draw something that he would decorate! It was such an important occasion since my whole life has been one of embarrassment about how I cannot draw (since a 2nd grade teacher told me I couldn’t and proceeded to paint my picture for me). Kudos to Peter Reynolds for all that he does for all of us. And you too of course PragmaticMom!

      Hi Joan,
What an amazing experience. He lives near me but I have somehow managed to miss all his book events though I did meet his brother Paul for an event at Charlesbridge Publising. I need to work on this because he’s very inclusive when he does his book events! How fun to draw with him! Did he convince you of your inner artist? I hope so! 🙂

But for my kids who are in elementary school I gift them gift cards to B&N for them to choose but, it must be age appropriate AND push them to read at a bit of a current higher level.
