The Lux Blox are different from other blocks in that they are very versatile. They flex, twist, bend, turn, curve, and move with a lock and hinge system that snaps the pieces into place.
Kids who like Legos will find the Lux Blox are easy to snap together and more versatile in terms of making 3D creations.
This is a building block set that is deceptively simple. The building pieces are all identical except for color but the structure that you can build are amazingly versatile.
The Lux Blox also have holes that allow a variety of connection tools like straws, short and long connection sticks, rubber bands, and popsicle sticks to play with.
The center holes in each Lux Blox piece in which you can attach the connection pieces allow for more elaborate and complicated structures.
This is an easy building kit to save for a rainy day and break out for STEM creativity. The Lux Blox comes in different size sets.
The Lux Blox 88 piece set is $29.
We tried the Lux Blox 200 piece set with is $69.
I would recommend trying the smaller set to see if your kids like it. We tried the 200 piece set but we didn’t use all pieces but it was still a fun experience.

BEST #OWNVOICES CHILDREN’S BOOKS: My Favorite Diversity Books for Kids Ages 1-12 is a book that I created to highlight books written by authors who share the same marginalized identity as the characters in their books.
Those look like lots of fun! I have three boys that love to build and create.
Hi Mother of 3,
The shape of the block is the same, but the other things to add to it make it endlessly creative. And you probably have extra lying around: rubber bands, popsicle sticks, plastic straws. It’s amazing that they all fit in and work!
This looks like a toy that my kids would enjoy.
Hi MaryAnne,
I think so too! And it’s fairly compact since I know you have tons of other building toys.
