McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal®

McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal® is Our Favorite Breakfast

Posted on February 29, 2016May 12, 2024 by Pragmatic Mom

Picky Kid Pix and I are a big fans of McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal®, made from 100 percent whole grain Irish oats, so we were both thrilled when The Motherhood asked me to cover it. I like to make it for breakfast when she has a morning soccer game because it fuels her up and is a good and delicious breakfast. Her favorite breakfast is McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal.

When I have the luxury of time, I’ll make McCann’s Traditional Steel Cut Irish Oats using a combination of 1/3 milk and 2/3 water.  It has a wonderfully nutty flavor and rich texture, which is enhanced (we think) with berries and a teaspoon of brown sugar. There is minimal processing, nothing added, nothing artificial.

McCann Steel Cut Oats Is a Healthy Breakfast

I also use McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal because it takes just five minutes on the stove. It actually has the same great flavor and texture of the traditional oats but is much faster to make. When time is short, I’ll opt for this version. McCann’s Irish Oatmeal also has a rolled oats option: McCann’s Quick Cooling Rolled Oats. It’s great for kids who are used to the rolled oat texture. It also has the same rich texture and minimal processing.

McCann Steel Cut Oats Is a Healthy Breakfast

I learned that the company recently earned its first Non-GMO Certification for three products — McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in the 28 oz. Tin, McCann’s Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal in the 24 oz. Canister and McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal Quick Cooking Rolled Oats in the 16 oz. Box. I stock both the traditional oats and the 5-minute version on hand, and the Non-GMO certification makes me feel good.

McCann Steel Cut Oats Is a Healthy Breakfast

There are other reasons to love McCann’s Irish Oatmeal. Did you know that their oats are sourced from hand-selected, small farmers with 40 to 80 acre size farms because small-size farms ensure consistent high-quality oats?

Have you tried any McCann’s Irish Oatmeal products? If you want to try it, here’s information on where to purchase it online. I am also doing a $25 Visa gift card giveaway (see Rafflecopter below). I hope that you’ll consider trying our favorite McCann’s Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal with it.
