Hi Mia, Hope you’re surviving the storm! Your book give-away is wonderful. Thanks to you alerting me to International Book Giving Day I will be reading the first chapter of my first book, Emerson’s Attic, The Blue Velvet, to a group of 25 children on February 11th. A friend will be providing refreshments for the kids and each child will go home with a copy of the book, an International Book Giving Day book mark, and a full tummy. I hope to return to the group in a few weeks to do a followup discussion with them using my study guide. Thank you for all you do promoting reading. Kathleen Andrews Davis

Thanks so much for your kind words Stephanie! It is my pleasure and honor to promote diversity in children’s books because these books did not exist when I was a child and I wish they had!

Thank you for introducing me to this event. The selection of books is terrific. As a non English speaker who taught my kids about my native language and culture I am always seeking books on diversity. Enjoy this special day!

Excited to join you all tonight! As a K-5 librarian in an increasingly diverse school I am always looking for books our kiddos can relate to in a more personal level. 🙂

Thanks so much Maria! I hear that we trended on Twitter last night during our Twitter party. That’s pretty exciting! Hopefully #ReadYourWorld will be a popular hashtag to celebrate diversity, inclusion and multiculturalism in children’s and ya literature! Valarie and I have some ambitious ideas to execute for next year … we just started kicking them around so hopefully it will be bigger and better next year! Thanks so much for your support! We can’t do it without your support!
