Hi Mia, Hope you’re surviving the storm! Your book give-away is wonderful. Thanks to you alerting me to International Book Giving Day I will be reading the first chapter of my first book, Emerson’s Attic, The Blue Velvet, to a group of 25 children on February 11th. A friend will be providing refreshments for the kids and each child will go home with a copy of the book, an International Book Giving Day book mark, and a full tummy. I hope to return to the group in a few weeks to do a followup discussion with them using my study guide. Thank you for all you do promoting reading. Kathleen Andrews Davis
Hi Kathleen,
Wow, I love how you are celebrating!!! That is awesome!
Mia, thank you for hosting MCCBD and the linky party! Your efforts in promoting diversity in children’s literature is so appreciated!
Thanks so much for your kind words Stephanie! It is my pleasure and honor to promote diversity in children’s books because these books did not exist when I was a child and I wish they had!
Thank you so much for your kind words Stephanie and thank YOU for joining us!!
Happy MCCBD! Look at all these great prize packs!!! Setting a calendar reminder for the Twitter party. Off to add my link 🙂
Hi Ann,
Thanks so much! We are so excited! Can’t wait to give all these great inclusive, diversity and multicultural books away tonight! 9pm EST. We are giving away one book package every five minutes in real time! Hope you can join us! Are you getting hit hard by snow? We have a foot so far!
Thank you for introducing me to this event. The selection of books is terrific. As a non English speaker who taught my kids about my native language and culture I am always seeking books on diversity. Enjoy this special day!
Thank you so much Evelyne for your kind words!! And for joining us today!!!
Excited to join you all tonight! As a K-5 librarian in an increasingly diverse school I am always looking for books our kiddos can relate to in a more personal level. 🙂
Hi Danna,
YAY! I’m so glad you can join us and you can win one of eleven packages of books. We are so excited to get these wonderful multicultural books into the hands of kids who truly need them! Thanks so much!
So many great books, so little time! Congrats on the 2nd anniversary of Multicultural PB day, Mia!!
Thanks so much Maria! I hear that we trended on Twitter last night during our Twitter party. That’s pretty exciting! Hopefully #ReadYourWorld will be a popular hashtag to celebrate diversity, inclusion and multiculturalism in children’s and ya literature! Valarie and I have some ambitious ideas to execute for next year … we just started kicking them around so hopefully it will be bigger and better next year! Thanks so much for your support! We can’t do it without your support!
This is probably one of the best blogging day/link-up that there is! I LOVE MCCBD! 😀
Thank you so much for your support Erik! We could not do it without the support of such great KidLit bloggers like yourself!
