What Would You #WishForOthers?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Capital One for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

What would you wish for this holiday season? After spending the weekend with Valarie Budayr of Jump into a Book and the wonderful staff at Wisdom Tales Press at the National Social Studies Council conference (NSSC) in Boston this past weekend, we would wish for all kids to be able to see themselves in children’s and young adult books.

Valarie and I spent our time at NSSC looking for educators, publishers, authors and parents who felt the same way and wanted to spread the word on January 27th, 2015 at our 2nd Multicultural Children’s Book Day. We were thrilled to find others eager to help us in this mission!

Would you like to share your wish for others too? Capital One is bringing to life a real life Wish For Others wishing booth experience in a Capital One 360 café on Black Friday (11/28) through Giving Tuesday (12/2) in Back Bay Boston!

Valarie and I believe in the power of multicultural books for kids. These books open doors, whether to validate a sense of belonging in the world or to realize that each of us is capable of changing it for the better.

What would you wish for? If you are in Back Bay Boston, you can share your #WishForOthers on the Capital One Facebook Page and on their booth.

The Capital One 360 Boston Café will be located at:

Why is Capital One doing this?

We all know that giving to others feels great, whether you’re donating to a nonprofit, volunteering at a food bank or doing something nice for a loved one. To celebrate that spirit of giving and make the holidays a little brighter this year, we want to hear about your wish for others. Share your wish for someone else – a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or a community — with #WishForOthers on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or the Wish For Others site.
