We have some wonderful news about Multicultural Children’s Book Day! We are now a non-profit! This status will help us with our mission to get diversity books into the hands of underserved children.
To help us with this goal, we are partnering with First Book. We will be both helping them to raise money and donating money we raise through our Multicultural Children’s Book Day to donate multicultural books to kids who need them most!
About First Book
First Book provides access to new books for children in need. To date, First Book has distributed more than 120 million books and educational resources to programs and schools serving children from low-income families throughout the United States and Canada.

Our Virtual Book Drive for First Book
As part of the Multicultural Children’s Book Day, we will be offering the chance for readers and supporters to participate in a Virtual Book Drive with First Book’s Virtual Book Drive program to help us get multicultural children’s books into the hands of deserving readers.

Thanks Giora,
We are so excited to put diversity books into the hands of underserved kids!
That’s wonderful news! What a great initiative.
Thanks so much Marie-Claude. We are so excited about partnering with First Book!
As someone who is surrounded by books at home, I cannot imagine a life without them. They are such a huge resource and comfort to me and my children. This program sounds incredible!
Thanks so much Bekki,
It is sad to think about kids who have no books. When I tell my kids that, it makes them want to help. It does seem impossible for those of us who are lucky to have piles of them at home!
Congratulations on becoming a non-profit! First Book sounds like a fantastic program. I can’t imagine growing up without books.
Hi Cool Mom,
Thanks so much! We are so excited to raise money for First Book. They are chosing diversity books to give to inner city schools! I think it’s so sad that some kids own no books! We want to help! Reading is so important!
