I’m part of the Read Around The World Summer Series hosted by Multicultural Kid Blogs. Today, I wanted to introduce you to a Young Adult (YA) find that had me riveted!
Jet Black and the Ninja Wind by S
Husband and wife team joined forces to write this action adventure YA novel that has a bit of romance as well. Jet Black was raised on a Navajo reservation and is secretly trained in the middle of the night in the ways of the ninja which includes mastering how to walk on wet tissue paper without tearing it or making a sound. Jet never really understands why this is happening, but when her mother dies, she is sent on a mission to save the family’s treasure back in Japan.
There are bad guys out to get her and her newfound Japanese family (also well-trained as ninjas). But why is the person who is responsible for capturing her so alluring? This YA action adventure love story is non-stop action as Jet fights to save a sacred mountain in Japan.

This sounds exciting! Both my kids would probably enjoy it in a few years. We just picked up Princess Scargo An Indian Legend by Clare V Doyle from the library. It is an older picture book about how Scargo Lake and Hill were formed.
Hi Ann,
Thanks for the book recommendation! Is Scargo Lake and Hill a real place? Around MA area? That would be amazing!
This looks like such a cool book! I know it’s for teens, but I am going to look for it for myself!
Hi Leanna,
I thoroughly enjoyed it and YA is widely read by adults! Let me know what you think if you get a chance to read it!
This sounds like a very exciting book! I’m with Leanna, I think I will find a copy to read myself!
Hi MaryAnne,
Yay! Let me know if you get your hands on a copy! I’m curious to know what you think of it!
Ooooh. I want this book.
Hi Paola,
It’s such a fun read! I hope you get your hands on a copy!
They are real, they are in Dennis the next town over from us, very cool to read about a legend about a place you can visit!
Hi Ann,
That is awesome and near me too! Will have to check it out!
