My son and I have been enjoying The Kid Should See This curated videos for the past year. It’s videos made for an adult audience, but age appropriate for kids. The topics range from science to arts and entertainment. We subscribe for a weekly email that has five videos. After watching a pile of them, my son selected these four as his favorites to share with you!
An amazing cut paper stop-motion paper forest by by Kelli Anderson and Daniel Dunnam.
Domino Physics. Who doesn’t love watching someone’s painstakingly created domino creation come to a successful conclusion? The Kid Should See This also has those Rube Goldberg contraptions that we dearly love.
My son will watch science documentaries in short YouTube clips like this three minute segment from PBS’ The Gathering Swarms, chronicling the the seasonal movement of billions of sardines along the coast of South Africa. It’s the greatest fish migration on the planet and this clip is as dramatic as it comes! Watch until the end; we beg you!
This was very moving to my son who also plays soccer.
In a village outside of Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, this Congolese gentleman crafts found scraps of garbage into a homemade soccer ball. Though the region has been plagued with war, terrorism, and ongoing conflicts for decades, filmmaker Jerome Thelia writes in The New York Times, “…children there still play with passion and joy – regardless of what kind of ball they are using.”
Surprising results with these science experiments conducted by Olympia Brown and her daughter Viola. Here they explore density of household objects.

I enjoyed watching these with my son. His top three: lava lamp, soccer ball, and dominoes.
The animation was awesome too. Lots of fun!
Hi Ann,
I’m so glad your son watched them with you!! I’ll tell my son that your son liked them too! That will make him really happy!
COOL! This sounds awesome! 😀 I think I’ll subscribe! 🙂
Hi Erik,
The videos are great! I think you’ll like them too!
This is such a cool site for kids! I enjoyed watching all of the videos. The most moving was the soccer ball. But, I really loved each viedeo. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Patricia! I’ll let my son know. He curated their curated videos — I think he watched four or five weeks worth and then ranked them. It’s been such a fun way to learn about science and art together!
I also watched them all sans kids 🙂
Hi Faigie,
I’m glad you enjoyed them! I’m posting on the videos from the newsletter that I loved so I totally agree that it’s great to share with kids but the videos are fun for adults too! I like curated content! I need more of that in my life!!! Is there such a job as a personal assistant who just curates everything for you from soup to nuts?! LOL!!
