My son and I attended the Mega Awesome Book Event which starred Rick Riordan, but Eoin Colfer emerged as the star of the day. (Ridley Pearson was a rockstar too!)
Boy is that guy funny and charming! If I could invite just one author to dinner, I would pick him. He’d have you in stitches all night!
Here’s an example as he gives advice to his younger self:
Here’s why he has no further use for Artemis Fowl and therefore must write a new series.
His new series is called The Reluctant Assassin and it sounds every bit as exciting as his Artemis Fowl series.
His books include:
The Reluctant Assassin (W.A.R.P.) by Eoin Colfer
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
Artemis Fowl The Last Guardian by Eoin Colfer
Eoin Colfer’s Legend of the Worst Boy in the World by Eoin Colfer
The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer

Glad that you and your so had such a good time. I haven’t read anything by Eoin Colfer, including his well- known Artemis Fowl series. Don’t know why. After watching the videos, I may just add him to my list.
Hi Patricia,
I’m hoping my son will read Artemis Fowl this summer! I could not get my girls to give it a try and I even bought a copy years ago to tempt them. He’s such a great guy though and it would be fun to read his books!
Nice to know that some people still value a good sense of humor. He’s a great writer, kind of reminds me of Anthony Horowitz.
Hi Jim,
I’ll have to add Anthony Horowitz to my list! Thanks for the great rec!
He sounds like a guy I’d like! 😀
Hi Erik,
Yes! And I hope you get to meet him soon!
This author is new to me! I now want to read his work. Thank you for linking this post to the Sunday Showcase.
Hi JDaniel4’s Mom,
I hope JDaniel4 will try some of his books when he is a little older. I think his books work for kids ages 9 and up but precicious readers would like it at around age 7 even. I don’t think content wise, it is too scary for them.
