Celebration Giveaways for 1 Million Page Views
PickyKidPix, my 10-year-old daughter, has a lot of marketing ideas for my blog. When she heard that I was approaching 1 million page views — we both check our traffic a lot! — she freaked out.
“You must do a big giveaway!”
And she had lots of ideas. Apparently CuteGirlHairStyles does lots of interesting social media marketing.
So, I put her in charge and this is what she planned for me.

Yes, I have picked winners thus far who have supported my blog. First winner is for ….

Congratulations on your big numbers! That must be an amazing feeling 🙂
And congrats to Ann, too, she is awesome 🙂
Going for 2 millions now! 🙂
Thank you for your kind words Alexandra!
That’s a fantastic set of goodies and a fantastic ‘almost’ achievement-1 million page views is awesome!
Thanks Redpeffer,
My traffic is like dieting; it always seems to swing up and down. Right now, it’s down. Same feeling as dieting and trying really hard but gaining weight instead. Ugh!
Wow! Congratulations on the HUGE milestone. Way to go. My daughter just followed your daughter’s blog, too! Here’s to a million more for you.
Hi Cool Mom,
Thanks so much. I told PickyKidPix and she is thrilled to have a new follower! Thank you!
As for topics. I’m not sure I can offer you anything more than the great posts you already have!
Thanks so much for your kind words Cool Mom!
This is such a fabulous milestone coming up. I am so happy for you PragmaticMom!!
And what a bright 10-year old daughter you have!
I don’t want to break your bank or anything, but she deserves a little something too … me thinks! 🙂
Congratulations!!
Read Aloud Dad
Hi Read Aloud Dad,
I’m be sure to hide your comment from my daughter! (Just kidding!).
What an insightful and savvy daughter you have–a future entrepeneur in the making!
Thanks for all of your great content, and other giveaways!
Congrats on the milestone–that’s impressive!
Hi Maria,
She is a kick-in-the-pants, that’s for sure. Her goal in life is to become a billionaire. She already tells me that she won’t be visiting me much in my old age because she will be quite busy but she will pay for any medical assistance I need. Hmmm… she thinks this is quite funny too! I guess it’s good that I have three kids because the other two promise to visit one. One says he will live with me forever.
Congratulations on achieving such a significant milestone! Your posts are ALWAYS interesting and informative. Keep up the good work. You already have a great partner in such a talented daughter following in your footsteps!
Thanks so much Barbara!
Oh i have my eyes on prize box 5. I have gotten great ideas on this blog. Love it.
Thanks so much Nadine including your request for the Urban Chicago chapter book list! It’s been a popular post! And if you win, Prize box 5 is all yours!
Congratulations on the impending milestone! I’d like to see more posts about books for 7 year old girls and 8 year old boys. 🙂
Hi Valerie,
You got it!! I have an 8-year-old boy myself! I want to post more on early/easy chapter books. It’s so hard to find good books in that genre. Super suggestion!! Thank you!!!
Love all of your book recommendations – How about Story time places in and around Boston? I know we used to love those when my children were young.
Don’t add me to the giveaway, but I just wanted to say congratulations and thanks for hosting Little Pickle Press blog book tour stops – you’re one of my favorite parenting blogs even though I don’t drop by nearly often enough!
Character Building resources and activities.
Love this giveaway! Love your blog!
Oh how awesome! Congratulations 🙂
Now you’ve got me thinking I should go and dig out my stats. I have no idea how many page views I’m at.
Happy almost 1 million page views!!! I love that your daughter is helping you turn this into a marketing endeavor!
As for post topics, I really enjoy what you have so far. I would love to hear more about your experiences running small businesses.
This is great and super and amazing and wonderful! Picky Kid Pix needs to come on over and figure out some marketing plans for my blog now.
A million pageviews is AMAZING! Congratulations and you should most likely have a big old party at your house with cake.
Congratulations on your great accomplishment!
Thank you so much Lisa! I really appreciate all your support on Twitter too!
Congrats on doing such a great job. I don’t follow too many
blogs– actually only two: yours and capability mom. HA!
I think you both do the 12 days of x-mas gift ideas which is
fantastic. I got my husband into Tommy Bahama clothing thanks to you. 🙂
Love the book lists and ideas to keep my boys reading!
maybe future topics: bullies, peer pressure or Birds and the Bees books
for boys age 10+ ( just found one called It’s not the Stork. Would love other ideas).Keep up the good work! Your daughter is doing a super job marketing for you!
Thanks so much Kim! Yes, I plan to do the 12 Days of Shopping with Capability:Mom forever, hopefully! We have fun doing that together.
I have a Birds and Bees post: http://www.pragmaticmom.com/2012/03/the-birds-and-bees-talk/
Thank you for your ideas! Yes, I will definitely post more on bullies and peer pressure!
This is the first time I have ever been on your blog. Maybe you could give us personal stories. You probably already do, but I just found you blog!
Thanks Ruth,
Will do!
Congratulations on such a significant milestone!
Suggestion for a topics – bullying and self-esteem.
Thanks for all the great posts! Keep them coming, I love reading your ideas and literary inspirations.
Thanks Janice. Not quite there yet and now my SEO is so bad but I hope to reach this goal next month sometime. Unless Google hates me even more than now.
Congrats Mia! That is a huge milestone. I love the way your daughter thinks! lol I always love reading your articles and look forward to many, many more. Our kids are close in age and gender so your articles are usually such a great fit to my needs. As my son is becoming an independent reader, I’ll be looking for book recommendations for his age that combine an interesting story and a bit of a challenge in terms of vocabulary and grammar. Thanks! 🙂
Thank you so much Renee! I really appreciate your kind words!
Yay for Pragmatic Mom and one million views and yay for ME most comments!!! Thank you so much I love your blog!!!
My first choice is #4 because I see it has Conference of the Birds (love that) then #2. But all the prize packs look awesome! Thanks again!!!

I think you get first pick! You were certainly the first to respond. You remind me to mail them out soon! Thank you so very, very much for all your support! It’s been one of my great pleasures of blogging getting to know you though your comments and your blog. I am deeply grateful.
I would love more book activities/extensions.

Thanks so much Vi! I’ll let her know! She loves getting compliments from my readers!

Thanks so much Erica!
Yay! Congrats, well deserved! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity, here’s hoping.
Mari
Hi Mari,
Thanks so much. Good luck! You are entered to win.
Congratulations! Loving your blog! How about blogging about building your blog and promoting it?
Hi Anne,
Thank you for your great suggestion! Yes, I will do that!
How exciting for you! And I love, love, love that your daughter came up with this idea! So cool that she gets excited about your blog and wanted to take part in the celebration!
Thanks so much OneMommy. To be truthful, my kids find my blogging a little annoying so I am always excited when they take an interest. She was thrilled that I used her suggestions and that readers complimented her. She does have great ideas. I didn’t do all of them; some were too ambitious for me. Shhh, don’t tell my middle kid.
Congrats on 1 million views. What an achievement. Wonder how much of this goes to the 10 year old girl? – kidding 🙂
Thanks so much iGame Mom! I’ll let PickyKidPix know that she gets some of the credit!
Great Blog! Not sure about future topics though, can’t think of any.
Thanks so much Zipfish!
