Complicated Car Pooling for 5th Grade Book Club
It’s just another manic Sunday! Do you remember the time before kids when Sunday was a day you could spend in bed? Sunday, FunDay, Don’t Have to Run Day? Not when you become a mom!!! I really wanted to take PickyKidPix‘s book club of 5 girls to meet author and illustrator Grace Lin at a literacy event nearby.
The stars aligned when the swim meet for two of the girls was a home meet and all the girls were able to make most of the it, but not without a mad scramble. Thankfully, one of the moms is excellent at logistics and figured out this incredibly complex schedule to get everyone where they need to go.
It was worth it! The girls loved meeting Grace Lin and it was a great book club meeting!
Six o’clock already
I was just in the middle of a dream
I was kissin’ Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
But I can’t be late
‘Cause then I guess I just won’t get paid
These are the days
When you wish your bed was already made
It’s just another manic Monday
I wish it was Sunday
‘Cause that’s my funday
My I don’t have to runday
It’s just another manic Monday

I hope that you the girls enjoy the event with Grace Lin. When I wrote a blog on March about famous American-Chinese author, I’ve learned how popular she is. Let me suggest also to take the girls to an event by Janet Wong, an American Chinese Korean children author. She’s impressive.

Hi Giora,
YES! Love Janet Wong too! I didn’t know she was Korean Chinese American.
Can’t wait to hear more! Meeting Grace Lin definitely sound worth the manic Sunday!!!
Hi Ann,
She is so nice! I’m writing up a post now!
How awesome that you got to meet Grace Lin! That’s like superstar caliber. And might I say I’m glad I didn’t have your Sunday? Woman, you need a little break. You should give your kids pogo sticks and have them use those instead of being driven around. Kids are so soft these days.
Hi Jeanette,
It was an insane day, that’s for sure! Pogo sticks are a great idea!!!
How cool to meet Grace Lin!
Hi Maryanne,
She is SOO nice! She lives in Somerville and gets out quite often so I’m betting that you will have an opportunity to meet her at a local book signing. I’ll keep you posted! She also might list her events on her website.
