Welcome to our upcoming Multicultural Children’s Book Day on January 27th, 2017! We are so excited for our fourth year that we are changing things up so that we can provide more diversity children’s books to parents, caregivers, guardians, librarians, and teachers.
In years past, we asked for BLOGGERS to sign up to receive a free book in return for a review on their blog which they linked up on January 27th. This year, we are thrilled to expand our invitation for a FREE diversity book to parents, caregivers, guardians, librarians, teachers, and, of course, bloggers! Instead of limiting the book review and optional book extension activity to blog posts, we are expanding it to social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook and YouTube!
So … if you read books to kids and want to share a FREE diversity children’s book …
And you are willing to write a short book review and an optional book extension activity…
And you will include Title of Book, author and illustrator (and tagging them including the publisher is nice because they will share your post).
FREE Diversity Book for Multicultural Children’s Book Day
You can sign up for a FREE book from Multicultural Children’s Book Day here!
That’s right! You don’t have to be a blogger. You just have to be willing to share on Facebook OR Instagram OR YouTube. You pick one of these three social media platforms that you are most comfortable on and post your review for everyone to read and enjoy there. When signing up to be one of our book reviewers simply indicate the URL of the platform(s) you plan to post your review on in the “blog URL” space on the below Google sign up form. Thank you and we look forward to working with you!

BEST #OWNVOICES CHILDREN’S BOOKS: My Favorite Diversity Books for Kids Ages 1-12 is a book that I created to highlight books written by authors who share the same marginalized identity as the characters in their books.
Hi, Mia,
I applied and received a book, but I haven’t gotten any direction with the book. The only information I have is on the envelope in which the book came. Do you know where I can get some guidance?
Thanks,
Eva
Hi Eva,
This is your book from our Teacher Classroom Challenge. It’s a free diversity book for your classroom library. You don’t need to do anything except enjoy the book! 🙂
Thanks, Mia, but . . . I’m not a teacher. I can offer this book to my daughter’s middle school or elementary school. Or should I send it back?
Hi Eva,
Feel free to enjoy and give to your daughter. If it’s not her cup of tea, feel free to donate. No need to send back!
