Are you ready for a new Rick Riordan book? I know that my son is! He’s read every single children’s book that Rick Riordan ever wrote. We are ready for a new Riordan!!! What’s this new book about? I’m glad you asked …
The Trials of Apollo: The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan
After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disoriented, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus’s favor.
But Apollo has many enemies—gods, monsters, and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood. [chapter book, ages 8 and up]

We haven’t read any of the Rick Riordan books yet, but I bet Emma would enjoy them. Your contest linky doesn’t seem to be live yet…
Hi MaryAnne,
Sorry about that. I fixed the Rafflecopter! I think Emma would love his books too! My son is obsessed!
Percy!! But I also really love Piper and Leo.
Hi Autumn,
I’m with you!
That’s really cool! I can already imagine how this will end up! 🙂
Hi Erik,
3 book or 5 book series? My son and I debated that last night. There are 5 oracles but he thinks the plot is less complex so 3 books might make sense.
I would say: Annabeth Chase
Hi Lisa,
Love her too!
My favorite is Luke Castellan.
Hi Janet,
He’s a complicated character! Interesting choice!
I like Athena the best!
Hi Julie,
She’s one of my favorites too!
Dionysus of course. That may be a mom pov though.

My niece and I love Sadie Kane the most.

Hi Cheryl B,
She’s a great character! Thanks so much for entering!
I’m a middle school librarian….we canNOT keep these books on the shelves and just today I made up a re-order for more books because they are so well loved … that some are in tatters. I adore the series. Percy is my favorite character because he pulls so many boys and girls into reading that wouldn’t otherwise do so. I <3 Percy Jackson!
Hi Linda,
I’m so glad that Percy Jackson gets kids reading! It certainly worked for my son. His friends were reading Percy Jackson in 1st grade which I thought was too young. I wanted him to enjoy early chapter books and even picture books and easy readers. So my son borrowed a copy of Percy Jackson from a friend at school and just started reading it on his own. 🙂 Now we read all his books; I usually pre-order them and my son screams with excitement when they arrive. It’s such a great mix of adventure, diversity, and humor. What’s not to love?
Annabeth has always been my favorite. She’s super smart, brave, and I love her and Percy as a couple.
Hi Stacy,
I do love them as a couple too! She balances Percy!
I love Annabeth she has been y favorite character from the start of the series!
Hi Amber,
She’s a really popular choice and I can see why!! I loved how the book about Annabeth — Mark of Athena — she laments that she really doesn’t have a special superpower like the others. She’s just smart and level headed.
Annabeth because she is the smart girl! 🙂
Hi Courtney,
Can’t go wrong with Annabeth!
My favorite has always been Annabeth.
Hi Kelly,
I think Annabeth is the most popular character so far via my comments! Yay! She’s a great character!
My boys are HUGE Riordan fans; they just asked yesterday to re- read all of the Percy Jackson books (for the 3rd time!).
Hi Mother of 3,
My son is a huge Riordan fan too! He’s so excited that I get to blog on Riordan’s newest series.
My granddaughter is a big fan of Rick Riordan! She has all of his books except this one. Many of the books she has re-read several times. Her favorite character is Percy.
Hi Carole,
I love how Riordan’s books appeal to both boys and girls! My oldest daughter and my son are both huge fans. This book just came out so I hope your granddaughter wins this copy!
