Free Resources for Brain Building Moments #WhatMakesASuperhero

Did you know that we, as parents and caregivers, are superheroes? It’s true! We are superheroes through the everyday moments we spend with our children.

Research shows that there is no time in life when the brain develops more rapidly than during the first five years. Vroom was developed based on the premise that every child is born with enormous potential, and every parent can help them realize that potential.

Vroom Initiative and easy teachable moments

The Vroom initiative from the Bezos Foundation seeks to make every moment a brain building moment. They have free tools and activities with brain building ideas to help parents and caregivers slip in teachable moments throughout the day. There’s also an app to access fun Vroom activities any time.

The Vroom Superhero campaign demonstrates the heroic role that every parent and caregiver plays in the lives of children, and reinforces the message that anyone can be a Vroom Superhero to a child.

The little things that you do, they take note of it. It’s remarkable.

Vroom Initiative The Bezos Foundation Video

This video tells the story of an aunt-turned-foster-mother, Camellia, and her daughter, Cammie, showing us a powerful example of how the everyday moments they share have a profound impact on both of them.

There are endless ways parents and caregivers can foster healthy brain development in children. I’m sure you are doing it all day long without realizing it. If you need a boost of ideas, Vroom is here for you.

Nice read. For many kids, especially when they are little, parents are like superheroes … so big and knowing so many things. You and your husband probably were superheroes to you little kids. Alas, as kids grow up they realize that parents have flaws as well. Thanks for the inspiring post.

  2. I do think we are all superheroes – superheroes are not perfect!
