I discovered Elizabeth on Instagram @ehpyle and was delighted to discover that lives near my neck of the woods, one town over. Her Instagram feed is gorgeous — she’s a recovering botanist, mother, semi-professional mess maker who is obsessively learning to take better photos. Her obsession has paid off. Her photos are amazing.
Now she has a store called Bottle Branch where she turns her botanical collages into gorgeous thick notecards. The envelopes are equally luxurious. I received this collection from my husband for my birthday. She’s my guest blogger today and we are doing a giveaway of her beautiful cards in time for Valentine’s Day! Here’s her mompreneur story:
I was delighted when Mia asked me to do a giveaway with her on her blog, and I’m thrilled to offer a set of six botanically inspired greeting cards from my etsy shop, Bottle Branch.
Perfect for the avid gardener, budding naturalist, or anyone who just loves pretty things, these cards feature whimsical arrangements of leaves and red and pink flowers and fruits. These cards are printed on 130# card stock, that’s both acid free and soft to the touch. They were designed and photographed by me, Elizabeth Hammond Pyle.
I am a former botanist, mother of four, and I have a new business called Bottle Branch, where I offer botanically inspired cards and hand-printed textiles, sharing my passion for plants, flowers, color, and making things.
During my ‘first career’ as a scientist, I spent hours in the field collecting plants samples and learning to know plants by their subtle details – distinctive leaf shapes, elegant branching patterns, delicate flower structures. (I like to think these years of close observation inform the botanically inspired art I now make.)
When my youngest child was born, I went from working mom to stay-at-home mom and my gardening efforts blossomed. I grow vegetables, perennials, annuals and lots of cutting flowers– cosmos, zinnias, calendula, scabiosa, nigella, and more. As my garden has grown, I’ve cultivated a passion for arranging and photographing flowers and plants, from both my garden and those found in the wild.
Now my youngest child is in first grade, and I’m excited to be branching out again and sharing my passion for the beauty of plants and flowers through Bottle Branch and almost daily on instagram. And, I’m thrilled to be sharing these cards with you here, and offering them as a giveaway. I hope you’ll enter!
