My son plays soccer for Valeo Futbol Club and every practice ends with a mock tournament of four on four. These teams are formed in nanoseconds by the boys themselves; usually the same group tries to reform each week, especially if they have had success in the past.
They play short games of about five minutes each against another team, with the winner moving up a court and the loser moving down. Finally at the end, there is a playoff. On very special occasions, the winning team will win a bottle of a sports drink. This makes the tournament particularly competitive; winning that bottle of refreshment is like winning a gold medal at the Olympics!
As the snow melts here in Boston, we can finally think about going outside and it’s a very short spring season here. Soccer will finally return to outdoor fields and that’s usually when I’ll let my kids drink a bottle of a sports drink from time to time, especially during a tournament when there are multiple games and they need the electrolytes to rehydrate.
I usually don’t like to give my kids sugary drinks but I was happy to learn that BODYARMOR is low in sodium and contains NOTHING ARTIFICIAL (unlike other sports drinks on the market). It also has potassium packed electrolytes, vitamins and coconut water!
My kids are fond of UnderArmor gear; it keeps them warm all winter when they play outdoors — yes, they play in snow and — worse — sleet! They haven’t tried the BODYARMOR sports drink so when I had a chance to cover it for my blog, I asked my three kids if they wanted to sample it and it was a resounding” YES”!
So here is their review of the various flavors of BODYARMOR sports drinks. They sampled it after they all came home from their sports practices, thus simulating a realistic scenario in which they would be drinking a sports drink.
fruit punch: surprisingly good, I like it, this is ok but a little water-y.
orange mango: really good.
strawberry banana: tastes like strawbery banana yogurt.
tropical punch: it’s pretty good, it’s better than fruit punch, it’s ok– it’s a little water-y.
lemon lime: it’s good, it’s ok — is it healthy?
mixed berry: tastes like blueberry yogurt.
General comments: these should be refrigerated, they will taste better cold, can we get more of these?
If you live near me in Boston, here’s where you can find BODYARMOR sports drink to try for yourself: Target, Shaw’s, Market Basket, Wegmans, Roche Bros., Alltown, and Tedeschi’s.
And here’s a downloadable coupon as well!
This is a sponsored post by BODYARMOR sports drink and all opinions, as always, are my own. The opinions of my children are also not influenced by the product they provided (which you might have gleaned from their blunt comments).
