Jeanette and I thought we’d try to remember those who are easily forgotten because … sometimes we forget about them. A small gesture goes a long way. Jeanette has Unique Client Gifts … helpful because one year, I forgot to gift my clients during the holidays so I had to do the late thing which is not very impressive.
If this list of the forgottens is too long, maybe this is a good list to DIY with your kids?! Everyone loves this granola recipe from Nigella Lawson. I’ve gifted it year round to teachers who love it!
You can also make any gift special with a fancy DIY personalized gift label. I have instructions using Avery Labels and your printer.
Gift certificates in any denomination are always welcome too! I like to do a local bakery cafe, iTunes, Starbucks, grocery store or Target.
But what people really seem to like is our annual Holiday Recipe Booklet Card that I create with my sister. We combine an update on our family with a small booklet of our favorite recipes we’ve used all year. A holiday card with a handwritten note is always appreciated!

Good reminders and great ideas…….Teachers run out of room in their cupboards for all those coffee mugs!
Hi Barbara,
I guess the mugs can pile up! I have a board on Pinterest too for Teacher Gifts if anyone wants ideas: http://www.pinterest.com/pragmaticmom/teacher-gifts/ There are a lot of DIY gifts which is what we should do but never seem to pull off!
You thought of everyone! Actually, if you hadn’t mentioned the crossing guard I would have forgotten him, and he’s so great with the kids.
Hi Jeanette,
I need that reminder for myself too! Our crossing guard is great too!
A great list! Thankfully, I don’t have so many to think about. But, when working and raising kids there were a lot of gifts. My daughter and I used to make tins of white chocolate peppermint bark and give as gits.
Hi Patricia,
White chocolate peppermint bark sounds divine!! What a nice gift for teachers and others!
I think these are the people that gifts matter most for! Thanks for helping us remember them!
Hi MaryAnne,
I am trying to remember everyone; it’s easy to leave out the school secretary and the school nurse which I have done in the past!
