  1. A stuffed Holly Hobbie doll was the last doll I received for Christmas. She traveled with me to college in the 70s. I would be so excited to add this book to my collection of Christmas books!
I love Tomie dePalo’s The First Christmas (a pop-up book). I managed to get our copy signed when i met him at a book signing in 1991.

  2. I always read “Twas the Night Before Christmas” just before bedtime.

  3. We’ll read the Night Before Christmas, and I’m adding to our list this year, so your recommendation looks like a lovely one!

Granddaughters enjoy reading about Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph, but the Story of the Night before Christmas is always a winner

  11. Jeanette Nyberg

This is definitely the classic Xmas book to read. In fact, this is still my all-time fave.

We have been reading Bear Stays Up for Christmas by Karma Wilson& Jane Chapman and The Twelve Days of Christmas illustrated by David Delamare every night!

  13. Piroska

Definitely “Twas the Night Before Christmas”.

  14. We have two – my favorite, The Night Before Christmas, illustrated by Gyo Fujikawa, and my kids’ favorite, a pop-up book of the Biblical Christmas story.

The Fujikawa book is a reprint of one I had growing up, but the illustrations in your choice here look lovely too!

    • Hi Lauren,
We loved Maisy! My husband discovered Maisy before our first was born. We owned every book by Lucy Cousins at one point! :). I can see why Merry Christmas Maisy would appeal to your son! How cute that he loves it so much and how wonderful that he is learning to love books and reading! (and how patient you are to read it at least 4 times a day!!)

I don’t have a specific book in mind, but the kids and I go weekly to get new ones to read from the library!

I don’t have kids, but growing up I loved Eloise at Christmastime. I am a soon-to-be teacher hoping to win books for my future classroom!
