Pragmatic is Word of the Year
Happy New Year! It’s Gonna Be a Good, Good Year!
“Pragmatic, an adjective that means practical and logical, was looked up so often on Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary
that the publisher says “pragmatic” was the pragmatic choice for its 2011 Word of the Year.” Sacramento Bee
Thank you to Mom Friend Ursula, Dad Friend Steve, and my friends on Twitter for sending me this link! I am so excited that pragmatic was chosen as the 2011 Word of the Year! It bodes well for a good 2012, I think.
Here’s the definition of “pragmatic” by Merriam-Webster:
prag·mat·ic
adj \prag-ˈma-tik\
Definition of PRAGMATIC
Merriam-Webster has been picking its annual top choice since 2003. Previous winners include: austerity (2010), admonish (2009) and bailout (2008).
May you all have a pragmatic and wonderful 2012. Thank you to everyone for your support for these past two years!!! I really appreciate it!

Right on trend!!!
So here is my confession… One of the names I wanted to use for my blog was pragmatic mom!!! I love that word and it completely fits my philosophy about life… but it was taken ; ) It’s okay, I love the name I settled on. It suit me and it has encouraged me to share my art a little more than was my initial vision.
To Ann,
That’s so funny because I tried for Practical Mom first but it was taken so I took Pragmatic instead.
