My interior designer Mom Friend came over one day to help me purge my closet when I complained to her at yoga that I was thinking of hiring a stylist because I needed help: 1) purging, 2) filling in gaps post-purge, and 3) pulling it all together. She’s super stylish and she does it without being too spend-y. The purge was pretty severe — I think I donated over a dozen bags of clothes and shoes — and then she reorganized my closet and dresser so that I can actually get dressed in just one spot which was pure genius (why didn’t I think of that?!!).

She let me keep most items from Target, purged most of the stuff I got from a high end home party shopping trip, but I noticed that I got to keep all the stuff from Tess & Carlos, a local high-end boutique much like Barneys. I frequent their sales and score gorgeously soft cashmere sweaters, coats (raincoat and shearling) that actually fits me (I’m barely 5 feet!), well cut blazers for work, and most of the clothes I wear when I go out. In terms of price per wear,  Tess & Carlos is a good deal.

But it gets even better because both locations are having a giant, blowout warehouse sale to make room for the new stuff! Everything is 50  to 75% off! Designers include Etro, Jil Sander, Narcisco Rodriguez, Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith.  The sale officially starts April 30th and runs just 3 days until May 1st.

Here’s an insider tip: You can buy ahead of the crowds now. Some of the sale inventory is there but it’s not marked down on the tags. You just need to ask for “Warehouse Sale” inventory and you will get the discount! There will, however, be many, many more items out during the 3 day warehouse sale that is not out now.
